day 1

Gear up for an unforgettable jungle adventure with a warm welcome at Medan’s airport or your hotel in Medan. Embark on a picturesque 3.5-hour drive, meandering through breathtaking landscapes and verdant plantations until you reach the captivating village of Bukit Lawang. This enchanting destination nestles at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, offering a gateway to your extraordinary jungle trekking experience. Stroll leisurely to your hotel, enveloped by the natural beauty that Sumatra is renowned for. Take time to rest and prepare for the exhilarating days that lie ahead, immersing yourself in nature’s wonders.

Get ready for an exciting 3 day jungle trek with our knowledgeable English-speaking guide. Starting in the morning, your adventure commences as you cross a river and ascend uphill, reaching Jungle Point in Leuser National Park. Along the way, your guide will share valuable insights about rainforest animals and plants, while scenic viewpoints offer breathtaking panoramas of the Bohorok River valley.

At noon, relish a delicious meal at a picturesque spot, savoring the famous national Indonesian dish, nasi goreng, and exotic fruits. Continuing your trek, head uphill to a fantastic viewpoint, followed by an upstream journey along the Bohorok River. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife, including gibbons, Pigtail macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills, and even wild orangutans, if you’re fortunate.

Around 4:00 pm, arrive at the riverside campsite for an overnight stay. Here, delight in a refreshing swim in the jungle swimming pool, sipping coffee or tea while your chef prepares a 5-star dinner featuring a wide array of local delicacies. The magical night in the heart of the jungle awaits, with nature’s symphony and stunning stars to mesmerize you. Embrace the joy of campfire games with guides, and rest comfortably in the five-star hotel jungle tent, complete with mattresses, blankets, and pillows for a restful slumber.

day 3

The next morning, awaken to the harmonious symphony of monkeys and birds. Relish a delicious breakfast, preparing you for an exciting day of trekking. Perhaps you’ll be fortunate enough to witness the 8 species of monkeys inhabiting Gunung Leuser National Park, including the Sumatran Orangutan, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Long Tail Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Pig Tail Macaques, and the more elusive Slow Loris, Siamangs, and White-handed Gibbons.

A light lunch will recharge you for the enjoyable jungle taxi ride back to your hotel in Bukit Lawang.

Throughout this 3 day jungle trekking experience, we emphasize responsible tourism. Please refrain from feeding animals or littering in the wild; instead, keep plastic waste in your backpack until arriving at the campsite. Let’s preserve the pristine beauty of nature for future generations.

Here are some of the most common questions we get from our customers. Hopefully, this will help you. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to contact us!

All of our trekking guides speak English… and a little orangutan language ; )

The items you will need most are cash money, good walking shoes/hiking boots, a flashlight/torch and mosquito repellent. There is possibility to change money in Bukit Lawang.

You might see orangutans on our jungle treks, but there is no guarantee! These animals live out in the wild, and it’s hard to know where they will be at any point of the day. But our jungle treks leave Bukit Lawang at 8:30 am and pass the old orangutan feeding area, so you have a good chance to see semi-wild orangutans up close.

Just bring your personal belongings in a small backpack and 1 large bottle of water. Our team will provide sleeping bags as well as safety jackets for tube rafting. There will be a porter to carry the equipment (tent, camping mats, mosquito nets) and food supplies.

You can either pay the full amount or pay a 30% deposit, and you can pay the rest of the fee when you arrive in Bukit Lawang. Send us an email and we will send you our account number to which you can transfer the money.

If you cancel at least:

Two weeks before the trekking date: We will refund your deposit minus any transaction fees.

One week before the trekking date: If you have paid the full amount, you will get a full refund minus 10% and transaction fees. If you only have paid the deposit, you will get half of your deposit back minus transaction fees.

Less than 24 hours before the trekking date: No refund will be provided.

We will use it to cover your treks and tours cancellations, as well as compensation for your guide.
